Whole lotta tail waggin goin on

Not even the rain and the chill in the air could dampen the spirits of all those who came to this year’s Bark In The Park.

The day was filled with all kinds of fun activities for both humans and dogs.  Starting off with a 5k run which lead into the 2k dog walk for the active family and pet.

Also during the day there was live  music provide by OminOtagO and a performance by magician/juggler Jonathan Austin. A blessing of the animals took place just before the ever popular doggie parade which just as the event was about to get under way, saw the sun peek out from behind the clouds .

Along the way,  the adoption tent was busy taking in new applications for potential adoptions.

A young couple who at present own a Siberian Husky were looking to adopt a companion. They were introduced to Frankie, an Australian Sheppard mix. The two dogs played together for a good long while and will be getting together later on for an ” in home visit” .  Later in the day a gentleman who was attending with his two daughters said he was there to fill out the foster parent application and were looking to continue fostering as the had done with another group. The two little girls met Amos, a Beagle/Terrier mix and took an instant shine to him. If all goes well, there will be another foster family on board to provide a safe haven for another needy dog.

All in all it was great day to be at the park with you pet and there was definitely a whole lotta tail waggin going on.
